FUSION TIGER MEGADEMO Fusion Tiger Megademo is an attempt to push BasicFusion far beyond the usual BASIC demo and turn it into a real old-school demoscene production. The demo mixes classic Commodore 64-inspired effects with features possible in a modern BASIC environment: raster bars, Kefrens-style sine effects, DYCP scrolling, BOB-like particles, starfields, perspective grids, procedural vector graphics, animated characters, an infinite tunnel and a complete software-generated 3D scene. Everything runs from a single .bf file. There are no external graphics, models, WAV files, OGG files or other runtime assets. All graphics are generated procedurally by the program itself, while the soundtrack is reconstructed from MIDI data embedded directly inside the BASIC source and synthesized in real time using BasicFusion's sound engine. The soundtrack is a BasicFusion cover of Survivor's “Eye of the Tiger”, with thousands of MIDI note events converted into internal DATA statements. Separate melody, bass, piano, strings, overdrive guitar, distortion guitar, muted guitar and drum parts are interpreted by the program and played using SOUND and NOISE. The visual part consists of several continuously changing scenes: C64-inspired boot sequence neon demoscene intro animated vector runner with parallax city raster and Kefrens effects moving BOBs and perspective checkerboard procedural 3D icosahedron rotating vector geometry starfields and particle systems infinite perspective tunnel multieffect finale sinusoidal demoscene scroller The main challenge was to make the whole production behave like a proper demo rather than a collection of disconnected BASIC examples. Effects share timing, music runs independently from the display refresh rate, animation is synchronized through TIMER and SYNC, and the complete production loops continuously. It is both a tribute to the Commodore 64 demoscene and an experiment: How far can you push a modern BASIC interpreter when you stop treating BASIC as a beginner's language?
